20-year-old Juan Soto had hilarious way of joining in Nationals’ pennant celebration

Juan Soto still isn’t old enough to legally drink, so he had to get creative to join in on his team’s celebration after winning the National League pennant.

Following the Washington Nationals’ 7-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday to clinch a World Series berth, Soto had a funny Instagram post from the locker room. The star outfielder posted two bottles of Welch’s Sparkling Grape Juice with the captions, “Celebrate it!!” and “Finally can drink.”

Soto turns 21 later this month (Oct. 25), but he has certainly been producing like a much older player. He clubbed 34 homers and 110 RBIs for Washington during the season, and his two-hit performance on Tuesday helped deliver the knockout blow in the team’s NLCS sweep of the Cardinals.

As luck might have it, Soto could just be able to legally drink during the next celebration if the Nationals ultimately go on to win the World Series. In the event of that happening, hopefully his first sip of alcohol tastes better than it did for this fellow MLB phenom.
