Famous actor had bad fan experience at Game 5 of World Series
Wendell Pierce was among the many famous people who attended Game 5 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., but the actor says some unruly fan behavior inspired him to leave early.
Pierce took to social media late in the Dodgers’ 7-6 World Series-clinching win over the Yankees to blast the “unruly, obnoxious people” who ruined his experience. Pierce, who is best known for his role in the hit HBO series “The Wire,” said he left Yankee Stadium because fans began throwing things at him after seeing him talking to a Dodgers fan.
“Unfortunately I just left the Yankees game because I was talking to a Dodgers fan and people were throwing things at me,” Pierce wrote. “Unruly, obnoxious people can ruin everything. The worst experience ever. The game and experience is of no significance now. The spirit of sports ends with the ugliness of humanity.
“The fact that some suburban who ha’s (sic) come to Yankee stadium to act an a–, completely ruins the artistry of Cole pitching a no hitter into the 5th, or Freeman with a 4 game consecutive home run streak: both in the World Series. It will mean nothing to me because all I remember will be the obnoxious fans I had to avoid.”

Pierce added that he could “care less” about the outcome of the World Series because of his experience in the Bronx. He also said the experience was the “complete opposite” of what he saw when he attended the Olympics, where “competition is celebrated because of the level of expertise.”
At the start of the game, Pierce shared a video of himself on social media with a Yankees hat on. He said he was rooting for the home team, like he did when he attended Game 1 and wore a Dodgers cap.

Pierce’s issues at Yankee Stadium came a day after two fans were ejected for getting physical with Mookie Betts over a foul ball in Game 4.
In addition to “The Wire,” the 60-year-old Pierce is also known for in “Jack Ryan” and some other shows and movies.
