Braves take NLDS Game 1 lead on Kolten Wong fielding error
The Atlanta Braves took a 1-0 lead in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals thanks to a fielding error by Kolten Wong.
Josh Donaldson was batting in the bottom of the first with runners on the corners and grounded a weak chopper to second. Wong ran up for the ball and then tried to flip to second, but he botched the flip.

Not only did the Cardinals not get the inning-ending double play they were hoping for, but the Braves were able to score.
Luckily Miles Mikolas got the next two batters out to end the inning without Wong’s misplay leading to more damage.
Wong had not played since September 19 due to a hamstring injury.
