The Milwaukee Brewers missed out on Tarik Skubal, but now they are adding a pair of pitchers before the MLB trade deadline.
On Monday afternoon, the Brewers agreed to a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals that will send Dustin May, the ex-Los Angeles Dodgers star, and reliever Jo Jo Romero, according to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic.

The Brewers were one team linked to a Skubal trade, but the reigning AL Cy Young winner went to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a major move for the back-to-back World Series champions.
May spent the first six seasons of his career with the Dodgers and was with them in 2025 before he was traded to the Boston Red Sox at last year’s deadline.
May has playoff experience with the Dodgers, as he has three starts with a 3.86 ERA in nine total playoff appearances.
This season has been up and down for May, as he has a 5-7 record with a 4.38 ERA, but he has thrown 109 innings.
Romero is turning 30 years old in September and is currently on the IL, but he has a 1-3 record with a 3.35 ERA in 44 games and is a solid addition as a left-handed reliever.
