Carlos Beltran appears to be a candidate for the vacant New York Mets managerial position.
Beltran will interview with the Mets in person, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. He spent seven years playing for the franchise and has been linked to other managerial posts since retiring.
Carlos Beltrán also will interview in-person with Mets for managerial vacancy, sources tell The Athletic. Beltrán currently working with #Yankees as special adviser to GM. Interviewed for Yankees’ job that went to Aaron Boone. Played for Mets from 2005 to ‘11.

Beltran obviously lacks hands-on coaching experience, having worked in the Yankees’ front office since his retirement two years ago. It remains to be seen how much that matters to a Mets organization that clearly has designs on winning as quickly as possible. That’s especially true when there is a more accomplished candidate in the running for the same position that many Met fans would like to see get the job.
