Cubs expect Anthony Rizzo to return ‘on time’
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo appears to be closing in on a return to action.
Manager Joe Maddon said Rizzo is “on time” as he works his way back from a back problem, and has been taking swings in the batting cage.

Rizzo would be eligible to come off the disabled list on Monday, though Maddon was not completely clear whether the Cubs would activate him immediately. Regardless, it sounds like he won’t be missing for much longer. That will hopefully be his final DL trip for a while, as long as he stays away from shoddy hotel beds.
