Dave Roberts was rubbed the wrong way by what the Atlanta Braves broadcast crew had to say about his team during the telecast of Saturday’s game.
In the fifth inning of the eventual 5-1 Dodgers win, Braves announcers Joe Simpson and Chip Caray criticized the Dodgers for their casual attire during pregame batting practice. Simpson in particular, himself a former Dodgers player, called the display “very unprofessional” and “an embarrassment.”
Wow! Joe Simpson rightfully rips @dodgers for rag-tag BP attire. @DOBrienATL pic.twitter.com/2pjEoUlkQl

After the game, Roberts was angry upon being informed about what Simpson and Caray had to say, saying that he took it “personally” that they questioned his team’s professionalism, per Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.
Dave Roberts was legit pissed when informed about BattingPracticeTshirtGate.
“I take it personally when someone questions our professionalism,” Roberts said.

For what it’s worth, Saturday’s game was played in Atlanta and marked the Braves’ fourth straight loss at the hands of the Dodgers. As for Roberts, we have been him get heated in defense of his team before, and this time around seemed well-justified, especially for something so petty and inconsequential.
