Report: Derek Holland not expecting to return to Texas after Andrew Cashner deal
The Texas Rangers rotation appears to be going out with the old and in with the new this offseason.
Free agent right-hander Andrew Cashner agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with the Rangers on Friday, per TR Sullivan of MLB.com. Sullivan also adds that the deal has lefty Derek Holland convinced he won’t be back in Texas and that the club hasn’t been in contact with righty Colby Lewis either.
Looks like it's done at one-year and $10 million for Cashner…Long been on the Rangers radar screen

Holland, 30, and Lewis, 37, are both longtime Rangers with the former having been in Texas since his MLB career began in 2009 and the latter playing for the team from his major league debut in 2002 until 2004 before returning for his second stint with them in 2010. But unfortunately, recent years have seen the injuries pile up and the effectiveness go down for both pitchers.
With Cashner, a talented 30-year-old righty who should do better now that he no longer has to deal with the ineptitude of the San Diego Padres at the plate and in the field, now in tow, perhaps it’s indeed best for the Rangers to move on even if all that style will be tough to say goodbye to.
