Derek Holland’s ‘Wild Thing’ haircut gets Charlie Sheen’s approval

Rangers pitcher Derek Holland has been sporting a haircut reminiscent of the one Charlie Sheen wore as Rick Vaughn in “Major League” recently. Over the weekend, Holland had the opportunity to meet the actor, who gave the cut a thumbs up.

On Saturday, Holland picked up his third win of the season after allowing just three hits and one run over eight innings against the Angels. After the game, Holland received a visit from Sheen. Holland posted the above photo of the two of them posing with a miniature Jobu in the locker room along with the caption “It doesn’t get much better then this. The man himself the real wild thing was in attendance tonight. Thanks @charliesheen for coming down. #therealwildthing #majorleague #winning #thesheen”

Holland also posted another one with a view of him from behind, showing off the haircut Sheen made popular.

Holland has been sporting the haircut since his returned from disabled list on August 19. Since then he has gone 3-1 with a 2.15 ERA in 29.1 innings, while allowing batters to hit just .200 against him. As long as Holland continues to post numbers like that, the haircut and Jobu figure in the locker should stay.
