Dodgers acquire Brian Dozier in trade with Twins
The Los Angeles Dodgers have upgraded their second base position.
The Dodgers beat the non-waiver trade deadline on Tuesday by acquiring Brian Dozier in a trade with the Minnesota Twins.
Los Angeles is sending Logan Forsythe to Minnesota, along with prospects Devin Smeltzer and Lucas Raley, per Joel Sherman. Both prospects are in Double-A.
The Dodgers were not getting the production at second that they were hoping for all season. Now they get Dozier, who is making $9 million in the final season of his contract, to play the position. Dozier is batting just .224 but has 21 doubles and 16 home runs.
