Several fans felt like FOX announcer Joe Davis was taking sides during Sunday’s NLCS opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Davis and John Smoltz had the call for Game 1 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wis. Davis has been a national FOX broadcaster for years, but fans felt his Dodgers bias showing throughout Sunday’s contest.
Some spectators sensed some sadness from Davis as Kike Hernandez bounced into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded in the top of the 2nd.
Could Joe Davis sound any more disappointed that the Dodgers grounded into a double play here? Completely unserious that he calls MLB playoff games with this amount of bias🚮 https://t.co/RHF1Or58dN

Others felt Davis lacked enthusiasm when Brice Turang hit a game-tying home run in the 4th inning, with one fan even claiming the announcer got more excited for loud Shohei Ohtani outs.
Bro Joe Davis has literally had more energy for a Shohei Ohtani pop up

Even a few Dodgers fans could feel the partiality from Davis’ calls.

Davis has been the Dodgers’ regular play-by-play man for nearly a decade. He was on the call for FOX during each of the Dodgers’ World Series matchups over the past two seasons.
Davis has been open about taking pride in shedding any biases when calling postseason games, particularly when they involve the Dodgers. But that won’t stop fans from speculating that the 38-year-old is taking sides.
