A Los Angeles Dodgers coach has a team to worry about other than the New York Yankees right now.

Isaac Azout of the Miami Herald reported on Wednesday that Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough will be interviewing with the Miami Marlins for their open manager position. The Marlins are looking for a new manager after recently parting ways with Skip Schumaker.

McCullough, 44, has served as the first base coach for the Dodgers since 2021. Prior to that, he was a minor league field coordinator for the Dodgers after spending several years as a minor league manager in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. McCullough has also drawn interest as an MLB manager before (including from a big Dodgers rival).

After finishing an NL East-worst 62-100 this season, the Marlins completely cleaned house with their coaching staff, even beyond just Schumaker. While it appears the team will conduct a very thorough search for a new manager (including some out-of-the-box candidates), McCullough should make for a very strong candidate.
