Dodgers reportedly talking to Rays about Matt Moore
Injuries have turned the Dodgers pitching staff this season into a scene from Night of the Living Dead, and they’re working hard to find the cure.
According to a report by Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times on Sunday, the Dodgers have connected with the Tampa Bay Rays about left-hander Matt Moore. The asking price for Moore is said to be steep but less than that of teammate Chris Archer, whom the Dodgers have also displayed some measure of interest in.
Have heard Dodgers connected with Rays starter Matt Moore. The price would be steep, but less than the ask for Chris Archer. Who knows, man.

The 27-year-old Moore is 7-7 this season with a 4.08 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and 109 strikeouts in 21 starts. He made the AL All-Star team in 2013 and has a club option for 2017 with a $2.5 million buyout clause (per Spotrac).
The Dodgers are dangerously close to desperation mode with Clayton Kershaw still out indefinitely, Alex Wood sidelined until at least September, and Hyun-Jin Ryu also on the disabled list. With a divine selection of prospects to offer at the team’s disposal, we’ll see just how far that desperation goes towards consummating a deal.
