Dominican police reveal new details of attack on David Ortiz
Dominican Republic police released new details Wednesday about Sunday’s attack on David Ortiz.
According to Dominican Chief of Police Ney A. Bautista, “several individuals” were paid less than the equivalent of $8,000 to carry out the act, and an alleged shooter has been arrested. Police are also in possession of the gun used in the shooting. No motive was given as of Wednesday.

Ortiz himself is making some strides in his recovery from the shooting. It appears that police are also getting closer to cracking the details of the case, though the motive and the people behind the payment of the attackers remain a mystery.
