Dustin Pedroia felt ‘something weird’ in knee on swing
Dustin Pedroia left Wednesday’s Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees game in the second inning after hurting his knee in an at-bat, and he provided some context afterwards.
Pedroia flew out to right field in the top of the second and was replaced by Eduardo Nunez in the bottom half of the second.
According to Mass Live’s Chris Cotillo, Pedroia said he felt something weird in his knee during the at-bat.
Pedroia felt “something weird” in knee on a swing during his at-bat. Will stay in New York and see doctor tomorrow.
Came up to Cora, “surprised” him by saying something about how it felt. Pedroia went back to hotel because he’s also sick.
Cora: “We’ll know more tomorrow”

Pedroia is going to remain behind in New York to see a doctor while the team travels to Tampa for a series against the Rays that begins on Friday.
The 35-year-old second baseman only has two hits this season and is batting a putrid .105. He’s battled knee problems the past two seasons, which has limited his ability to be on the field and effective when he does play. He played in 105 games in 2017 and just three games last season.
