Eduardo Nunez is likely out for the remainder of the postseason for the Boston Red Sox after re-injuring his knee on Thursday.
Nunez was carried off the field after hurting his knee coming out of the box on a groundout in the first inning of Game 1 of the ALDS Thursday. Nunez was on the disabled list this season because of his knee and even re-aggravated the injury in late September, so this was a recurring issue for him.
While the Sox are unsure whether Nunez did further damage to his knee, manager John Farrell said Friday that Nunez is doubtful to play the rest of the postseason.

Farrell's expectation is Eduardo Nunez is done for the postseason, even if the Red Sox make the World Series, FWIW. Said he needs time.

Nunez was removed from the ALDS roster because of his knee, which makes him ineligible for the ALCS. The expectation is he wouldn’t be available if Boston reached the World Series.
Nunez is set to undergo an MRI when the team returns to Boston for Game 3.
