Fernando Tatis Jr. likely out for season with back injury
One of Major League Baseball’s brightest young stars is seeing the end of his season early.
According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune and Padres broadcaster Jesse Agler, Tatis is likely done for the season after suffering a stress reaction in his lower back. While the injury isn’t exceptionally serious, the team sees little point in pushing him too hard with the team likely to miss the playoffs.

Andy Green said that after they looked at MRI results, saw a stress reaction in his back. Not overly serious for future but they’re going to play it conservatively with him and think long term.
