Giancarlo Stanton booed loudly after five-strikeout game
Giancarlo Stanton’s New York Yankees career is off to a bad start.
Stanton was heavily booed throughout Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, which the Yankees lost in 12 innings. The outfielder went a miserable 0-for-7 with five strikeouts, leaving nine on base.
Yankee fans, not known to be a particularly sympathetic group, quickly lost their patience with their star acquisition and made their displeasure clear.

Giancarlo Stanton strikes out for the fifth time to end it. Loud boos. 8-7 Orioles win. Brutal loss for #yankees, who blew a 5-0, first-inning lead.

Remarkably, this is the second time Stanton has been booed at home in his first week of games there. He also heard the boo birds on April 3, when he went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in the team’s home opener.
Luckily, Stanton will have plenty of time to turn things around and boost his .167 average. He still has at least one prominent supporter out there, though.
