The San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-6 in 10 innings at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif., on Wednesday thanks to a splash hit by Mike Yastrzemski.
Yastrzemski came up in the bottom of the 10th with a runner on third, one out and the game tied at 6. Facing relief pitcher Emilio Pagan, Yastrzemski took the first pitch he saw and sent it out over the wall in right field for a splash hit, walk-off, 2-run home run.

Yastrzemski also had a double in the game and went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Yastrzemski is now fourth all-time on the splash hit list for the Giants. Barry Bonds, Brandon Belt and Pablo Sandoval are the only players ahead of Yastrzemski, who has 7 for his career. Three of Yastrzemski’s seven have been walk-off home runs.
The win made the Giants 9-3. They are tied with the Dodgers for second in the division — a half-game behind the first place San Diego Padres. The NL West has three teams with a winning percentage over .700 to start the season.
