
Jake Arrieta’s dominance appears to know no bounds.
Arrieta threw the second no-hitter of his career — second in his last 11 regular season starts at that — as the Chicago Cubs blasted the Cincinnati Reds 16-0 on Thursday.
Arrieta went the distance on a shutout, striking out six and walking four. The real close call came on a ball third baseman Kris Bryant snagged. Bryant clubbed two home runs and drove in six as part of the offensive onslaught.

Arrieta’s brilliant game marked the 15th no-hitter in Cubs history. Nearly as impressive as the no-hitters is this stat: Arrieta has not lost since his first no-hitter, which came on Aug. 30.
