JP Crawford, Scott Servais ejected from Mariners game after arguing call
J.P. Crawford and Scott Servais were both ejected from Wednesday’s Seattle Mariners-Cleveland Guardians game over a strike three call.
Crawford was batting with a 0-2 count and his Mariners trailing the Guardians 3-0 with two outs in the top of the fifth inning at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Crawford took a 0-2 fastball high from Tanner Bibee that was called a strike by umpire Doug Eddings for the final out of the half inning.
Crawford was livid over the calls he had received in the game and got in Eddings’ face, prompting the shortstop’s ejection from the game.

That strikeout made Crawford 0-for-3 in the game with three strikeouts. That’s one way to ensure he avoided the Golden Sombrero.
Some felt that not only was Eddings’ zone large for the Mariners, but that it was also too small when Seattle was pitching.
Wow. Eddings calling a GIANT zone when the Mariners are up to bat but the pitchers can't get these calls. This is an absolutely shameful performance from Doug Eddings. pic.twitter.com/1urhjrQqRM

Crawford had had enough though and decided to send a message to Eddings.
