A beer can was thrown onto the field at Rogers Centre at the end of the 7th inning when Hyun Soo Kim was trying to catch a fly ball off the bat of Melvin Upton Jr. Police were searching for the thrower and identified Pagan, a journalist, as the suspect on Wednesday.
Pagan was advised by his lawyer not to comment, but did seem to suggest in his comments that they had the wrong person. His defense was that he was drinking out of a cup, which a photo confirms:

The beverage thrown onto the field was a beer can. Pagan will have his day in court on Nov. 24.
