12-year-old goes viral for hitting massive home run
12-year-old Leyland Henry Jr. might just have a future ahead of him smashing home runs, at least based on what we saw from him over the weekend in a major international tournament.
Henry is competing for Team USA in the U-12 Baseball World Cup, an international event featuring many of the world’s top players in the under-12 age group. He went viral on Sunday for the monster grand slam he hit in the championship game against Chinese Taipei.

It is 275 feet to center field, and Henry cleared the batter’s eye with ease. In other words, that is a 12-year-old hitting a home run that probably went well over 300 feet on the fly. It is also a 12-year-old who measures 5-foot-10 and 230 pounds, which in itself is pretty ridiculous.
For what it’s worth, Henry is eligible for the class of 2029. Oh, and he has a fastball that already clocks in the mid-70s, though we’re guessing pitching is not where his future lies.
Team USA wound up winning 10-4 to clinch the world championship, no doubt buoyed by Henry’s massive power.
