Logan Morrison has become quite popular due to his use of the social media platform Twitter. After Thursday, the Mariners first baseman will be known as the guy who hit a baseball hard enough to rip a portion of the cover off of it.
During the fifth inning, Morrison fouled off a pitch from Scott Kazmir down the third base line, which wasn’t hit particularly hard. In fact, Morrison barley made contact with the ball hitting the very end of his bat. However, he hit the ball hard enough to separate the part of the cover from the baseball.
Of course, it wasn’t a screamer down the line or a laser shot that he squared up on, but hey, Logan Morrison ripped the cover off of a baseball. That has to count for something.
