Trevor Williams may have just won the award for the most woke footwear of the year.
The Pittsburgh Pirates reliever showed off some epic new cleats on Friday for Players’ Weekend. The cleats are Area 51-themed and, among other things, feature several aliens along with the message “Set Them Free.” Take a look:

The Pirates won their game on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds, and Williams also posted this fitting tweet after the victory:

Who knows if the 27-year-old righty will participate in the planned storming of Area 51 next month, but those are some pretty cool kicks in any case. Williams might not be the only alien enthusiast in baseball though.
