The Marlins came into Saturday’s game against the Orioles losers of eight straight. It took 13 innings, but the streak came to an end thanks to Martin Prado’s walkoff single, giving Miami its first win since Dan Jennings took over as manager.
After the game, the Marlins celebrated in grand fashion.
Several players headed to the Clevelander for a dip in the pool. According to one witness, Jennings joined the players for a little fun himself.
There will surely be some who will criticize the Marlins for such an elaborate celebratory display after a win in late May. And, you could certainly make the case it was a bit much. However, Miami is currently 17-27 and in last place in the National League East. They haven’t exactly had much to be happy about thus far. We can let them have this one, right?
