Matt Shoemaker diagnosed with skull fracture after taking line drive to head
After being struck in the head by a hard line drive off the bat of Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager on Sunday, Angels righty Matt Shoemaker has been diagnosed with a small skull fracture and a small hematoma.
The team announced the diagnosis on Twitter and said that Shoemaker will be seeing a neurologist. The good news is that the 29-year-old is speaking and appears to be doing well, though he will spend the night in the hospital for further observation.
