Matt Shoemaker needed emergency surgery to stop bleeding in brain
Matt Shoemaker’s injury situation continues to be scary, with the Los Angeles Angels revealing that the pitcher needed emergency surgery to address internal bleeding in the brain.
The surgery was characterized as successful, and Shoemaker is resting comfortably.
Matt Shoemaker had emergency surgery last night after an additional CT scan showed continued bleeding. Surgery deemed successful.

Shoemaker was initially diagnosed with a skull fracture after taking a line drive to the head during Sunday’s game against the Mariners. Reports late Sunday indicated that the pitcher was doing well, alert and responsive. Hopefully this emergency surgery is not a significant setback and Shoemaker can make a full recovery.
