Mike Napoli gives Red Sox players ride to stadium during snow
A bit of winter weather hit Cleveland on Monday, which caused the game between the Red Sox and Indians to be postponed. Not only were there freezing temperatures, but snow fell at Progressive Field.
Prior to arriving at the stadium, a few members of the Red Sox were walking through the streets of Cleveland amid the snowflakes when they saw an old friend. Mike Napoli, who now plays for the Indians after almost three years with the Red Sox, stopped to offer a ride the remainder of the way.
Several Red Sox were walking through the snow to Progressive Field from their hotel when a friendly driver gave them a lift — Mike Napoli.

Update: It was Bogaerts, Sandoval and Swihart to whom Napoli gave a lift for the final few blocks to Progressive Field.

Talk about perfect timing. I’m sure Bogaerts, Sandoval, and Swihart were glad to no longer have to walk in the cold and snow.
The postponement will also give fuel to argument that this can happen when you schedule opening day games in cities prone to cold weather in early April. Like David Ortiz said via the Boston Herald, “That’s what you (expletive) get when you come to (expletive) Cleveland right now.”
