Braves’ Mike Soroka removed as precaution after getting hit by pitch
One of the game’s leading young pitchers gave his team quite a scare on Sunday after leaving due to a hit by pitch.
Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Soroka left Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals after being hit on the arm with a pitch while batting. The Braves said Soroka departed for precautionary reasons.
Mike Soroka, who was hit by a pitch in the top of the 3rd and wasn't happy about it, is being replaced in the bottom of the 3rd by Josh Tomlin.

Looked like the pitch got Soroka in his right hand/lower arm. He slammed his bat immediately.

The 21-year-old Canadian has been a revelation for Atlanta this season, posting a 2.12 ERA in his first 12 starts and comfortably serving as the team’s best pitcher. Luckily, at least based on initial word, the injury he suffered Sunday does not appear serious.
