Talk of National League adding the DH ‘gaining momentum’
MLB has been considering multiple rule changes to make the game more fan-friendly, and one such change could be adding the DH to the National League.
MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said on Tuesday that adding a designated hitter to the NL is “gaining momentum.”

Even if Clark says the possibility is “gaining momentum,” commissioner Rob Manfred does not seem sold. He envisions “hesitation” about a potential change like that.
Commissioner Rob Manfred on universal DH: "If you get rid of the DH in the National League, there is a brand of baseball that is done. I think there is going to be some hesitation with respect to that."

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright has already spoken out against it.
Adding the DH to the national league is a bad idea in my opinion. The difference of the leagues is one of the beautiful things about baseball. The National League brand of baseball is a beautiful game, and I think, the way baseball is supposed to be played https://t.co/th1GESvd5u

Adding the DH to the NL would lead to more scoring and excitement and in many cases, eliminate a near automatic out from the lineup. At the same time, making pitchers bat leads to a more complex situation for managers when making substitutions, and some find that challenge more enjoyable.
I like offense and scoring and prefer the AL to the NL because of the DH. I think adding it to the NL would be a positive change for the game, and also have the potential to eliminate some injuries.
