Pete Rose cracks subtle joke about being banned from Hall of Fame
In case there was any doubt over whether Pete Rose is bitter about not being eligible for the Hall of Fame, the Hit King made his feelings pretty clear during the FOX broadcast after Game 3 of the NLCS Tuesday night.
When asked by colleague Frank Thomas if he used to guess which pitches were coming to him, Rose said he always guessed fastball. His reasoning was that you only need to make three hits in 10 plate appearances to have a career average of .300, which almost always gets a player into the Hall of Fame. Almost being the key word, of course.

“No matter what kind of hitter you are, you’re gonna make seven out of 10 outs and go to the Hall of Fame,” Rose said. “Well, most guys…”
Tell ’em why you’re mad, Pete.
Rose, who remains banned from baseball because he bet on games, feels he has been cheated by not being allowed into Cooperstown. He made that very clear with a letter he wrote directly to the Hall of Fame, and his comment from Tuesday only confirms it.
