Phillies’ Andrew McCutchen looking ‘extra jacked’ this year
Andrew McCutchen has not played in a live MLB game in over a year, as the season has now be delayed for three months and his 2019 campaign was cut short by a torn ACL. From a physical standpoint, it sounds like the veteran outfielder is more than ready to return to action.
Alex Carr of The Good Phight was told by someone at Philadelphia Phillies summer camp on Friday that McCutchen is looking “extra jacked” heading into the 2020 season. The 33-year-old apparently spent plenty of time in the weight room while rehabbing from his ACL injury.
A text I received from someone on location for the Phillies’ first day of camp:
“Yeah, Cutch is definitely ready to go. Looks like his “time off” was spent purely in the gym. Extra jacked.”
Can’t wait to see him step into the box. Three weeks.

McCutchen was having a solid season before he tore his ACL rounding the bases last June. The 2013 National League MVP had 10 home runs and 29 RBI in his first 59 games with the Phillies.
McCutchen signed a huge contract with Philadelphia last offseason. Had the 2020 season started on time, he was not on pace to be ready for Opening Day. The postponed season actually benefitted some players, and McCutchen appears to be one of them.
