Report: Phillies showing most interest in Adam Jones

Adam Jones could be on the trade block, and the Philadelphia Phillies are said to be showing the most interest in him.

Both Fan Cred Sports’ Jon Heyman and MLB.com’s Jon Morosi reported on Wednesday about the Phillies’ interest in Jones.

Jones is a 10/5 player (10 years in the bigs, five with the same team) and has a no-trade clause, which gives him the right to block a trade, so it’s unknown to whom he might allow a trade.

The 32-year-old outfielder is batting .277 with a .727 OPS this season. He’s been solid but not delivering at the levels he was from 2012-2015 when he was a four-time All-Star. Still, he’s steady enough to provide a boost for many teams at one of their outfield spots of weakness.

If the Baltimore Orioles do trade Jones, perhaps they will pull a Yankees/Aroldis Chapman and sign Jones back during the offseason.
