Prince Fielder touches Adrian Beltre’s head for last time
Prince Fielder on Wednesday announced at a press conference that he was retiring from professional baseball due to problems with his neck, which is currently in a brace.
Fielder has endured two spinal fusion surgeries in the last few years and his body is no longer cooperating. The Texas Rangers DH, who batted just .212 in 89 games this season, was emotional as he said goodbye to the game. Crying at times, one especially emotional moment came when Fielder gave teammate Adrian Beltre a pat on the head:

Longtime baseball fans know how sensitive Beltre is about his head (here’s the video evidence).
You know it was a rare occasion if Beltre permitted his head to be touched.
