Rays reportedly demanding Jurickson Profar in pitching deal with Rangers
The Texas Rangers are combing the trade market for starters, and Jurickson Profar appears to be a name coming up frequently in talks.
According to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, the Tampa Bay Rays are insisting on Profar in trade talks, with Texas refusing to blink.
#Rangers/#Rays staring contest continues. Tampa Bay wants Profar in return for one of their arms; Texas saying no.

The 23-year-old Curacao native was once the top prospect in all of baseball, but shoulder injuries robbed him of the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He has returned in 2016 to hit .298 to go with a .426 slugging percentage, and at such a young age, the best is yet to come. It’s a steep price for one of the trio of pitchers the Rangers are said to be seeking.
Profar is wanted by other clubs in similar trade talks, too. Texas would probably prefer to part with this prospect instead.
