It took $330 million for the Phillies to land Bryce Harper last week, and the star outfielder signed the deal amid some rumblings that he did not want to play in Philadelphia. It would appear the writers of “Saturday Night Live” subscribe to that theory.
Harper’s massive contract was a topic during the “Weekend Update” on the latest edition of SNL, and a shot was fired at the city of Philadelphia.

Again, there was talk that Harper preferred to play on the west coast, but the structure of his contract with the Phillies indicates otherwise. But if he didn’t want to live and play in Philly for the next 13 years, SNL would certainly understand.
