Todd Frazier’s 485-foot home run is MLB’s longest of 2014 (Video)

Even though the Major League Baseball season is still young, we’ve already witnessed some prodigious home runs.

Justin Upton did this to a pitch from Jenrry Mejía of the New York Mets. Bryce Harper visited the upper deck at Nationals Park.

todd-frazier-485It shouldn’t come as a surprise to baseball fans that Giancarlo Stanton has two of 2014’s longest bombs, with this 484-foot shot sitting at the top of the list.

Well, it did until Friday.

Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds knocked Stanton’s blast to second place when he turned on an 87-mph fastball by Jhoulys Chacin and launched it 485 feet. Talk about crushed. Wow.

The home run was Frazier’s sixth of the season and, according to ESPN’s Home Run Tracker, the longest of his career. His previous best of 470 feet came in 2013 against the Chicago Cubs. Coincidentally, that was Frazier’s sixth home run of the season as well.
