Travis Kelce called out for being fake Guardians fan
Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend were spotted in the Bronx this past Monday night at Yankee Stadium. The pair were there to attend Game 1 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians.
Kelce, who was born in Westlake, Ohio and attended Cleveland Heights High School, has shown support of the Guardians in the past. In 2023, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of a game against the Kansas City Royals.
That pitch did not go according to plan and quickly drew mockery from Kelce’s teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
On Thursday night, following a wild comeback win for the Guardians in Game 3, Kelce was again front and center, sharing his excitement via social media.
Playoff baseball baby!!! @CleGuardians have the city absolutely ROCKIN TONIGHT!! What a game! 🔥🔥🔥

Almost immediately, Kelce was called out for being a chameleon. Several on X reminded him that he was a Yankees fan, not a Guardians fan, in the not-too-distant past.
Kelce vehemently denied those allegations.
“I’ve been a Cleveland sports fan my entire life… Make it back to countless amount of games over the years both Guards and Cavs just to enjoy these memories with my friends and family, WIN OR LOSE!!… and I don’t wear Cleveland gear one time and all of a sudden I’m not,” he wrote on X. “Ask anybody that was in or around that suite on game 1 who I was cheering for, they’ll let you know I was there for the (Guardians).”
The problem for Kelce is that the Internet is forever, especially if you do not scrub your pages.
Sleuths quickly combed over Kelce’s X account and stumbled upon something that fit their theory, not his.

Whoopsie daisy.
Kelce has not responded to that unearthed post and he likely won’t. How could he?
Meanwhile, following an 8-6 defeat on Friday night, “Kelce’s Guardians” are one loss away from being eliminated by “Kelce’s Yankees.”
