Trevor Bauer has yet to make an All-Star team in his six-year MLB career, and he thinks that should finally change this season.
ESPN’s Buster Olney posted a tweet on Monday morning about how stacked the starting pitching will potentially be for the American League All-Star team.
As it stands today, think about the choices that A.J. Hinch could legitimately make for the All-Star Game pitching staff:
1st inning: Verlander
2: Cole
3: Morton
4: Kluber
5: Sale
6: Severino
7-9 Etc.— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) May 28, 2018

Bauer, the Cleveland Indians right-hander, noticed that his name was not included in Olney’s tweet and responded to it with a waving-hand emoji.

The 27-year-old is indeed putting together an All-Star-worthy 2018 season, going 4-3 with a 2.61 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 11 starts for Cleveland. Lately, he has been making headlines for some non-baseball shenanigans, so it’s easy to forget how excellent he is on the mound. As Olney hinted at though, the AL has a lot of starting pitching depth this year, so it remains to be seen if there will be enough room for Bauer in the Midsummer Classic.
