Manny Machado believes it is unlikely he will return to Baltimore next season as a member of the Orioles.
As we get closer to Major League Baseball’s trade deadline, the growing sentiment isn’t if Machado will be traded but when it will happen. Machado will become a free agent at the end of this season. Given his age (26 years old) and status as one of baseball’s premier talents, the Orioles most likely would not be able to match the offers of teams in larger markets. Getting the most they can for Machado before he walks away at the end of the season seems optimal for the Orioles at this point.
Many fans have accepted they are probably getting their last glimpses of Machado in an Orioles uniform. Machado himself recently admitted it’s “very doubtful” he will stay with the team, although there is always hope.

The Orioles have until the July 31 trade deadline to evaluate offers and determine what is the best package they can receive for the three-time All-Star. However, Baltimore reportedly wants to act quickly to get a deal done as soon as possible. The winner of the Machado sweepstakes could be a National League team that Machado appears to be impressed by.
