Yuli Gurriel

Yuli Gurriel put the Houston Astros on the scoreboard first in Game 7 of the World Series against the Washington Nationals.

The Astros first baseman was the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the second inning. On the fourth pitch he saw, Gurriel hit a rocket home run to left field to put Houston up 1-0.

The home run was Gurriel’s second this postseason to go along with the strong defense he’s played at first base.

Houston hit Nats starter Max Scherzer hard in the second inning and stranded runners on second and third with a lineout to left.
