Jalen Green and Amen Thompson showed some animosity between them during Tuesday’s clash between the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns.
The Suns led the Rockets 55-50 late in the second half when Devin Booker gave possession up to Thompson, leading to a 1-on-1 face-off between the Rockets wing and his former teammate Green on the other end.
Green ended up fouling Thompson, which sparked a heated exchange between the two.

Naturally, their first game as opponents has come with a little EXTRA. pic.twitter.com/nYNDPEulje
Referees let the action simmer down rather than call any technical fouls in that instance during a nationally televised game. But the two had been chirping, scratching, and clawing all game to that point.
The two got entangled in the first quarter after Green blocked a Thompson layup, leading to an offensive foul on the Suns guard for tugging on Thompson’s jersey.

No love lost between Green and his former team.@FOX10Phoenix pic.twitter.com/iCXJ2i3ui3
Thompson and Green are very familiar with one another. They were teammates in the previous two seasons on the Rockets before Green was shipped to Phoenix in the trade that brought Kevin Durant to Houston.
While some of the heat between the two could be chalked up to competitive fire, there was clearly some tension between the two they were finally able to let out on the court.
The matchup Tuesday was already the fourth time this season that the Rockets and Suns have squared off, but it was the first wherein Green was healthy enough to suit up against his former team.
