Los Angeles Lakers wing Austin Reaves is not going anywhere for a while after signing a four-year contract with the team last summer. Even if he were, however, one team can probably count themselves out when it comes to landing his services.

Reaves was taking part in a recent golf tournament when a Detroit Pistons fan apparently decided to shoot his shot with the guard. As Reaves was putting on his gloves, the fan quietly told him that “we need you on the Pistons.”

Any dreams about that arrangement were short-lived, as Reaves completely shut that down.

“I’m not going to Detroit,” Reaves replied immediately.

In fairness, this might not be about Detroit as much as it is about Reaves’ fit with the Lakers. He made it very clear that he wanted to stay with Los Angeles when he was a restricted free agent last summer. Those feelings likely have not changed.

On the other hand, the Pistons are undoubtedly one of the NBA’s messiest franchises right now. Reaves probably is not the only player who would prefer to avoid going anywhere near that situation.
