Ben Simmons is expected to be one of the top picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, and he’d like to have his shoe endorsement deal settled by then.
The Vertical’s Nick DePaula reports that Simmons and his reps at Klutch Sports are expected to meet with adidas Basketball and Nike in the coming days. Both brands are looking to land the former LSU forward, who may be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Neither company is expected to give Simmons his own shoe, but they could offer him custom colors.
DePaula notes that Simmons has not been showing favoritism to either company lately, as he’s been seen working out and wearing both Nike and adidas shoes.
Nike could have an inside track on Simmons thanks to their strong relationship with LeBron James, who backs Klutch Sports Group, but if the price is right, Simmons may go with adidas.
