Chet Holmgren missed all of last season due to a foot injury, but he is ready and playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season. And his NBA debut on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls was eventful to say the least.
Holmgren scored his first career points about five minutes into the game. He did so on a sweet spin and fadeaway jumper.

Holmgren is known for his ability on the defensive end as much as his offensive capability. So when Coby White got into the paint and then passed to Nikola Vucevic during the first quarter, Holmgren went up to contest the dunk attempt. Unfortunately, he ended up getting dunked on.

That’s part of playing defense and contesting buckets in the league.
The Thunder went 40-42 in what was a rebuilding season last year. Now that they have Holmgren in the mix, they have high expectations for the season. Holmgren was the No. 2 overall draft pick last year and should contend for the Rookie of the Year award this season.
