Chris Paul defends Carmelo Anthony against criticisms
If there’s one indisputable truth in the National Basketball Association, it’s that the Banana Boat Boys always stick up for each other.
Before his Houston Rockets played the Oklahoma City Thunder in preseason on Tuesday, Chris Paul commented on the criticism Carmelo Anthony gets.
“I think everybody’s always trying to put him in a box,” said the All-Star guard of Anthony, per Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript. “Just let him hoop.”
Paul isn’t the first Boater to come to Anthony’s defense this offseason, and it’s clear they remain one of the NBA’s tighest-knit groups (even if the sentiment doesn’t necessarily carry to when they are against each other on the court).
