Al Horford is headed for a split with the Boston Celtics, which has left everyone wondering where he is headed. The LA Clippers could be that team.
News emerged on Tuesday that Horford was opting out of his contract with the Celtics to become a free agent. Later that day, The Boston Herald’s Steve Bulpett said Horford was expected to leave to sign a four-year deal with another team.
Though the Dallas Mavericks have been mentioned as a candidate to sign him, The New York Times’ Marc Stein said Dallas will not be offering him a four-year deal. The other team that seems to be most tied to Horford is the Clippers.
The two teams I've been hearing from last Monday for Al Horford are the Clippers and Dallas. Still think the Clips make the most sense, especially if they can land Kawhi Leonard. Dallas might be shaky on a fourth year for Al, who turned 33 earlier this month.

The Clippers have $49 million in cap commitments for next season and are projected to have around $51 million in cap space. They’re believed to be finalists for Kawhi Leonard and might have to clear additional space if they are going to sign Horford too.
Horford just turned 33 and is looking to secure one final major contract before retiring. He averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game last season for Boston and has proven to be an excellent defender and teammate.
