Video has emerged showing Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan in a physical altercation with an individual at a sushi restaurant in Calabasas, Ca.
TMZ Sports obtained video from Friday showing DeRozan having to be restrained from fighting another individual at the restaurant. When the video begins, DeRozan is attempting to get involved with another man who is on the floor. Eventually, the man gets up and confronts DeRozan while suggesting that the Kings forward has the man’s phone.
Eventually, DeRozan backs into another section of the restaurant while the other individual continues trying to confront him.
An eyewitness told TMZ that the incident was started when the man shoved a phone with a bright light in DeRozan’s face, prompting DeRozan to knock the phone out of his hand. The man was allegedly injured, and police were called to the scene. An investigation is ongoing, though no further details were available as of Saturday evening.
DeRozan just wrapped up his first season with the Kings, having moved there in a sign-and-trade deal last offseason. The year certainly did not pan out as he had hoped, as the Kings were ultimately blown out at home by the Dallas Mavericks in the play-in tournament. He scored 33 points in the losing effort.
