Dirk Nowitzki just isn’t the player he used to be. He’s 40 years old now and not quite as athletic as he used to be, but he’s aware of it, so you don’t need to tell him.
He’s also more than willing to use his status as one of the NBA’s most venerable veterans — and oldest players — to crack a quick joke. Case in point: when the Dallas Mavericks forward had his offseason drug test on Saturday, he couldn’t help but wonder that the NBA thought it would find.
Just had off season drug testing. Told the guy: Did you see me move last year?? If I was on something I need to change the product ASAP!!!

Dirk isn’t afraid to laugh off how old he is. He’s apparently just as willing to chuckle at how slow he can be, too.
